Between mid-2022 and early 2023 we delivered a complete cable transport project built around a 5,400 T transport carousel. We took care of the design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the carousel on a transport barge, and arranged both the barge rental and the cable transport itself.
The 5,200 T demountable carousel was built to move 5,000 T of cable from Greece to the Baltic. That meant the full transpooling, the controlled cable load-outs and towing the barge across long distances in demanding sea conditions.
As an EPIC contract, the full responsibility sat with us, from engineering and construction through to mobilisation and getting the barge ready to operate. It's a good example of how we manage complex heavy-lift logistics from start to finish.
